The name
The First Art was architecture, our way to put beauty in the shelters we made. Then we used our hands to form sculpture in clay. Painting, music, literature, and dance followed. The 20th century gave us cinema — the Seventh Art — as well as television, comics, and video games.
The Eleventh Art arrives late — intentionally. Our world is dominated by screens and spectacle, but this art deals with presence, intimacy, and ephemerality. At the eleventh hour, we return to our most ancient sense: we return to breath, to air, to emotion—
To scent.
